Get A Free Flag For Port Washington Memorial Day Parade
Parade-goers will receive free handheld American flags from the local chamber of commerce on Memorial Day.

PORT WASHINGTON, NY — Those who attend the Port Washington Memorial Day Parade on Monday will be handed a free mini American flag by a member of the Port Washington Chamber of Commerce.
Thousands of free flags will have been handed out for 42 years once the 2023 parade rolls around, said Debbie Greco Cohen, president of the Port Washington Chamber of Commerce.
"Everyone in the chamber is very proud to be a part of this effort to honor our veterans," Greco Cohen said.

The Port Washington Memorial Day Parade, hosted by American Legion Post 509, is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday. The parade will kick off on Campus Drive and go down Main Street to The Sousa Band Shell.
"Come to Main Street on May 29 to honor our wonderful veterans," the chamber wrote. "You will be rewarded by the heartwarming sight of friends and neighbors, young and old, waving their flags as the proud veterans in the parade pass by."
