GoFundMe: Help for A 9/11 Worker
Port Washington resident starts campaign for her father's medical bills.

A GoFundMe campaign was recently created by Caroline Nadel of Port Washington to help pay the medical bills for her father Jimmy Nadel, who is battling a rare form of cancer.
Caroline Nadel says her father “was one of the responders performing emergency electrical services around the 9/11 disaster zone,” and that his form of cancer may be linked to exposure to the World Trade Center debris.
“He cannot work during this time, and it has been a hardship on my family,” Caroline said.

“My father’s life has been devoted to the service of people, the community, and his family,” she wrote on the GoFundMe page. “During snow storms he helps snow blow neighborhoods and even set up free generators when Hurricane Sandy hit.”
Recently, Jimmy Nadel had to stop treatment after suffering a heart attack. However, he is now back on track to receive treatment.
