GoFundMe Made For Roslyn Heights Family Who Lost Home, 2 Dogs In Fire
The fundraiser launched earlier this week hopes to reach its $100,000 goal. As of Thursday afternoon, the GoFundMe page has raised $31,654.
ROSLYN, NY — A GoFundMe page has been launched to help a family who lost their Roslyn Heights home and two dogs in a fire.
Around 6 p.m. on Saturday, crews from multiple fire departments in Nassau County were called to a house fire on Jefferson Avenue. Firefighters were able to put out the fire, but officials say the house is a total loss.
"The Gales family are good people who are loved by many in their community," said Chelsea Meier, who organized the GoFundMe page. "All of their friends and family are coming together to try and raise money to help them start their lives over."

According to Meier, the family lost everything in the fire, including their two dogs, Churro and Mila.
"Any contribution you can make will help them to rebuild their lives," she said. "We are hoping that if everyone comes together and helps just a little, we can make this devastating time just a little bit easier for them."
