Greater Port Washington BID Seeks New Executive Director
The Greater Port Washington Business Improvement District is looking for a new executive director. Think you have what it takes?

PORT WASHINGTON, NY — With the election of Mariann Dalimonte to North Hempstead town council, the Greater Port Washington Business Improvement District is in search of a new executive director. The organization announced last week that it was looking for a proactive leader who wants to grow Port Washington business activity in the district's senior management position.
In essence, the executive director carries out plans and projects to further the organization's mission of improving the area's economy through marketing, promotion, physical improvements and enhanced municipal services. 1. It's a full-time position that requires working as many hours and days during the week and/or weekend as necessary to complete projects. This means, among other things, representing the district at public events — during the day and evening — as well as planning and carrying out all monthly board meetings.
2. The executive director's time will be spent both inside the organization's office and in the community, meeting with businesses, landlords and tenants, local groups and government officials.

3. The executive director works with the board of directors to come up with a vision and strategy to further Port Washington's economic growth. This person also works with the treasurer and accountant to maintain accurate financial records and prepare a comprehensive budget.
4. The executive director should have leadership, management skills and values that align with the organization's mission. Organizational skills and demonstrable history of successfully executing projects are key, as is the ability to think creatively.
5. The person must be able to demonstrate they behave ethically and can pass a detailed background check.
