ROSLYN, NY — An arrest has been made in connection to New Year's Day 2024 hit-and-run accident in Roslyn Heights, police said.

Fariddun Djumaev, 39, of Queens, has been charged with leaving of an incident causing serious injury, police said.

He was arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Thursday.

The victim, a 91-year-old man, was struck by a dark colored SUV as he attempted to cross Mineola Avenue neasr Hillside Avenue, authorities said.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital with severe trauma and was in critical condition after the crash.
