ICYMI: 'Reclaiming Public Education' Meeting Set for Tuesday
Find out what some education leaders have to say about the Common Core.

The Port Washington Advocates for Public Education organization holding a ”Reclaiming Public Education – Less Testing, More Teaching” forum on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Port Washington Public Library.
At the meeting, Dr. Alan Singer of Hofstra University will address the impacts of testing and Common Core on curriculum and instruction; Dr. Sheri Lederman of Great Neck Public Schools will discuss whether testing validly reflects students and teachers; and Terry Kalb, a retired Special Education Teachers will speak to the consequences of testing and Common Core for special education populations.
Parents, teachers and community members from Port Washington and neighboring communities are encouraged to bring questions and concerns.
