N Hempstead Tree Lighting, Santa Visit Friday At Mary Jane Davies

The annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony will feature Manhasset High School's choir, Santa arriving on a fire truck and hot drinks.

MANHASSET, NY — Manhasset's Christmas tree will light up Friday, Dec. 2 at an annual ceremony packed with festivities at Mary Jane Davies Green, across from North Hempstead Town Hall.

The event starts at 4 p.m. with a Pledge of Allegiance from Manhasset American Legion and Manhasset VFW and blessings from local clergy. The Manhasset High School Brass Choir will play. Awards will be given to the winners of the Manhasset Chamber of Commerce’s Poster contest.

Santa will arrive by firetruck driven by the Manhasset-Lakeville Fire Department, and then the tree will be lit. Free hot chocolate and coffee from For Five Coffee Roasters and food from Herb & Olive Marketa will be available.
