North Hempstead Beach Park Opens Early This Summer For Seniors
North Hempstead Beach Park is opening early on weekdays for seniors looking to beat the summer heat.

PORT WASHINGTON, NY — North Hempstead Beach Park will open early to senior residents this summer as warm, humid air continues to sweep across Long Island.
The park — located at 175 W. Shore Rd. in Port Washington — now opens weekdays at 8 a.m. No lifeguards will be on duty until 9 a.m.
"It is important to us that our senior residents always have options to remain active," said North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth. "Our early hours provide a wonderful opportunity for our seniors to exercise when the weather is cooler and avoid the extreme heat that can come during the middle of the day."
