TONH Election 2021: GOP's DeSena Appears Poised To Win Supervisor

See who's leading in the Town of North Hempstead and Nassau County races.

PORT WASHINGTON, NY — Town of North Hempstead residents hit the polls Tuesday to cast ballots in their local elections.

The polls closed at 9 p.m. on Long Island. And the unofficial vote tallies have rolled in to determine numerous key races — including the office of the county executive, Nassau district attorney, and seats on the North Hempstead Town Board.

All 19 county legislative seats are also up for grabs this election cycle, including districts 10 and 11.

According to unofficial vote tallies from Nassau County's election board, Jennifer DeSena — a Republican and Manhasset resident — appears poised to win the Town's supervisor race against Democrat and current Town clerk Wayne Wink.

Below are the unofficial results for both the Town of North Hempstead and Nassau County races. Those seemingly in the lead have an asterisk next to their name.

Laura Curran (Democrat) — Incumbent: 124,008 votes; 47.70%

* Bruce Blakeman (Republican): 135,842 votes; 52.25%

District Attorney

* Anne Donnelly (Republican): 155,554 votes; 60.22%

Todd Kaminsky (Democrat): 102,666 votes; 39.74%

Comptroller

Ryan Cronin (Democrat): 99,811 votes; 39.20%

* Elaine Phillips (Republican): 154,787 votes; 60.79%

Clerk

* Maureen C. O'Connell (Republican): 161,648 votes; 63.34%

Justin R. Brown (Democrat): 93,509 votes; 36.64%

Legislative District 10

Ellen Birnbaum (Democrat) — Incumbent: 5,353 votes; 42.03%

* Mazi Melesa Pilip (Republican): 7,375 votes; 57.91%

Legislative District 11

Meagan McCarty (Republican): 5,175 votes; 37.70%

* Delia M. DeRiggi Whitton (Democrat) — Incumbent: 8,546 votes; 62.25%

Wayne Wink (Democrat): 18,327 votes; 46.04%

* Jennifer DeSena (Republican): 21,466 votes; 53.93%

Town Clerk

Viviana Russell (Democrat): 17,686 votes; 44.84%

* Ragini Srivastava (Republican): 21,744 votes; 55.13%

District 1

* Robert Troiano (Democrat): 2,709 votes; 56.11%

Kerri Delio (Republican): 2,112 votes; 43.74%

District 3

Christine Pusateri (Democrat): 2,612 votes; 37.31%
