North Hempstead Town Residential Drop-Off Open Every Other Week
The residential drop-off will be open every other Sunday through Sept. 20 to keep residents safe amid the coronavirus pandemic.
NORTH HEMPSTEAD, NY — The Sunday Town Residential Drop-Off at the North Hempstead transfer station in Port Washington will continue to open every other Sunday throughout the summer under a modified schedule to keep residents safe during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, officials said.
Recyclables, e-waste, yard waste, household do-it-yourself project waste and rubbish will all be accepted, Supervisor Judi Bosworth and the Town Board said in a news release Monday. No commercial waste or curbside solid waste will be accepted.
The Sunday residential drop-off is currently open every other week through Sept. 20. Upcoming opening dates include July 12, July 26, Aug. 9, Aug. 2, Sept. 6 and Sept. 20. Residents will need to show a valid driver’s license to confirm they are North Hempstead residents.
