North Hemptead Town To Release Quails Aimed At Reducing Tick Population
The 9th annual Quail Release takes place Thursday in Port Washington.
PORT WASHINGTON, NY — To help reduce the tick population without pesticides, North Hempstead officials will have their 9th annual Quail Release.
More than four dozen Northern Bobwhite quails will get released into Hempstead Harbor Woods.
The North Hempstead Town Board is partnering with the Center for Environmental Education & Discovery for Thursday's release, adjacent to the aerodrome on West Shore Road in Port Washington.
