North Shore Animal League Kicks Off Weeks-Long Pet Adoption Event
North Shore Animal League's nationwide pet adoption event kicks off this week in Port Washington.
PORT WASHINGTON, NY — North Shore Animal League America has kicked off its Tour For Life pet adoption event.
According to North Shore Animal League, a Port Washington-based animal rights organization, Tour For Life is the world's largest national cooperative, life-saving pet adoption event.
The goal of the eight-week-long adoption event is "to promote safe adoption events to make it easier to find your new best friend," according to a statement from the North Shore Animal League.

"From Monday, Feb. 28, through Sunday, March 6, we will be launching the nationwide, eight-week program with adoptions at our Port Washington, NY Adoption Centers," the statement read. The adoption centers in Port Washington are open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
