North Shore University Hospital Nationally Recognized In Survey

MANHASSET, NY — North Shore University Hospital (NSUH) has been recognized as a top facility nationally for the fifth year in a row.

The Northwell Health hospital earned the distinction by Healthgrades as a 2023 Patient Safety Excellence Award recipient, placing it among the top 5 percent for short-term acute treatment nationwide.

NSUH is a Level I trauma center and teaching hospital that treats more than 90,000 patients each year.

"Patient care and safety are baked into everything we do at North Shore University Hospital and that is so important because we handle the most complex cases," said Jon Sendach, NSUH’s executive director. "We take great pride in serving our surrounding communities even as we’ve grown into a regional and national destination for outstanding medical care."

North Shore University Hospital is home to the Sandra Atlas Bass Heart Hospital, Katz Women’s Hospital and one of the busiest emergency departments in the New York Metropolitan area.
