MANHASSET, NY — The former Lord & Taylor on Northern Blvd. in Manhasset may soon become a medical facility, the Manhasset Press reported Tuesday. According to a Town of North Hempstead spokesperson, NYU Langone applied to convert the building, at 1440 Northern Blvd., to an ambulatory care center.

The town will now issue a review, the spokesperson said.

The longstanding department store closed in 2020 only two years after a major renovation and expansion. The space was then used as a co-working facility called SaksWorks, a collaboration with WeWork. SaksWorks shuttered in early 2022.
