Over 50 Puppy Mill Rescues To Go Up For Adoption In Port Washington

North Shore Animal League America will be returning to its Port Washington campus this weekend with more than 50 dogs and puppies.

PORT WASHINGTON, NY — More than 50 dogs rescued from U.S. puppy mills will soon go up for adoption in Port Washington.

Rescue teams from North Shore Animal League America — which brands itself as the world's largest no-kill rescue and adoption organization — will be returning to its Port Washington campus this weekend, according to officials.

The animals include a variety of pure and mixed, small-breed dogs, including Cocker Spaniels, American Eskimos, Poodles, Yorkies, Dachshunds, Maltese, and Schnoodles. They will be groomed by staff and examined by a veterinary team. Once cleared, they'll be available for adoption, which officials estimate will be in the coming weeks.
