Pair Steals Woman's Purse At Nassau Whole Foods With Ruse: NCPD

Police say a man and woman told a shopper loading groceries into her car she had dropped money, then stole, used her credit cards at Prada.

MANHASSET, NY — A man and woman used "distraction theft" techniques to rob a Whole Foods shopper of her purse last week, Nassau County police say. The pair, pictured below, approached a woman, 62, as she was loading groceries into her car at the supermarket, at 2010 Northern Blvd.

The man then told the shopper she dropped money, and used the ruse to steal her purse from the front seat, according to police.

It happened Wednesday, Dec. 14, at 2:40 p.m. Stolen credit cards from the purse were later used to try to shop at Prada in the Americana Mall.
