Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck In Port Washington: Police
The woman, 73, died after being struck, police say.
PORT WASHINGTON, NY — Police have identified a pedestrian who died after being hit by a car in Port Washington Saturday as Carol Mockler, 73.
According to Nassau County police, the crash took place at 10:12 a.m. A 45-year-old female driving a 2019 Subaru was traveling southbound on Plandome Road and making a left hand turn onto Murray Avenue when she struck Mockler, who was crossing the road, police said.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and no charges were filed; the investigation is ongoing, polices said.
