PETA To Take On Bird Flu, High Egg Prices With Vegan Egg Sandwich Giveaway In Nassau
It takes place on Wednesday at noon at the intersection of Plandome Road and Northern Boulevard.

MANHASSET, NY — With egg prices still had sky-high levels across Long Island, PETA will lead an effort for a vegan alternative.
PETA, with mascot "Tommy Tofu," will join Humane Long Island supporters on Wednesday afternoon in Manhasset to hand out free vegan "egg" sandwiches from Secret Vegan Kitchen.
This effort comes as blue flu is causing havoc in the poultry and dairy industries since the beginning of the year.

“It’s a shell of a good time to make the switch to pandemic-proof vegan eggs, which are affordable, delicious, and most importantly, leave hens in peace,” says PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman. “PETA urges everyone to be a hero for animals and in the battle against bird flu by choosing to go vegan.”
The vegan giveaway will take place at noon at the intersection of Northern Boulevard and Plandome Road.
