Pit Bulls Found Dead In Crate In Port Washington
BREAKING: "We are asking the public for help in identifying who abandoned these animals and how they died," SPCA President Gary Rogers says.
Authorities are looking for information regarding two pit bulls who were found dead in Port Washington on Monday. According to the Nassau County District Attorney's Office, the dogs were found dead inside a crate behind 19 Davis Ave., which is next door to the North Shore Animal League, between 4 and 5 p.m.
“Someone callously left two young dogs dead and in a crate,” SPCA President Gary Rogers said in a press release. “We are asking the public for help in identifying who abandoned these animals and how they died.”
One dog was a gray and black male, and the other was a tan-colored female. They were both about 3 years old and weighed 60 to 70 pounds.

This incident is under investigation by NCDA and Nassau County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
The SPCA is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whomever is responsible for the deaths of the animals.
