Gift Shop Wit & Whim To Close Port Washington Location
The store owners hope customers will visit their Huntington store: "We put our hearts and souls into wit & whim," closing in Feb. 2023.
PORT WASHINGTON, NY — Port Washington gift shop whit & whim will shutter after ten years of business at 6 Carlton Ave. in February 2023 and hope customers will visit the Huntington store that has been open since November. Wit & whim sells vintage and handmade goods from local artists.
The store owners posted a goodbye message on social media Tuesday:
"We will miss the interaction, correspondence and fun we had with you. We put our hearts and souls into wit & whim and consider ourselves lucky to have met you and to have been in business for all these years. Whether you made a purchase, came in to visit, shared a social media post, or spread the word about our shop, we appreciate you."

"You will find the same friendly service, as well as a unique selection of curated vintage, locally handmade and modern merchandise. So please don't be a stranger, we would love to see you," Krissy Harper and Jacquelyn Conte wrote.
In 2020, the two friends started a GoFundMe asking supporters to "help save wit & whim."
