UPDATE: Port Washington To Great Neck LIRR Service Restored

The MTA alerted customers that the Port Washington Long Island Rail Road branch was restored Friday morning after a brief suspension.

PORT WASHINGTON, NY — The Port Washington Long Island Rail Road line was restored at approximately 10 a.m. Friday morning after being suspended in both directions for an hour, the MTA said.

A bus replaced trains between Great Neck and Port Washington. Trains from Great Neck will continued to Penn Station normally, the MTA said.

A vehicle hit a bridge near Plandome, causing the suspension, according to the MTA alert sent at 9:22 a.m.
