Port Washington Police District to Host Family-Focused “National Night Out” Event on Tuesday, August 5th

Don't miss this opportunity to connect with your local officers, enjoy family-friendly fun and show your support for a safer Port Washington

The Port Washington Police District (PWPD) is proud to invite families from across the community to the fourth annual National Night Out celebration, a festive and free event designed to foster stronger relationships between law enforcement and the public they serve. Taking place on Tuesday, August 5 (rain date August 7th), from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Lions Field (25 Glen Lane, Port Washington, NY 11050), this year’s event promises an evening of fun for all ages, friendly competition, and community connection.

“This event is a great opportunity for residents to enjoy a summer evening while getting to know the people who work hard every day to keep their neighborhoods safe,” said Robert Del Muro, Chief of Police for the Port Washington Police District. “At its core, National Night Out is about strengthening the bonds between law enforcement and the community—because when we work together and understand one another, everyone benefits.”

Hosted in partnership with the Sands Point Police Department, Port Washington Fire Department (PWFD) Littig House and Port Youth Activities, National Night Out is a nationally recognized event that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. Adults and children in attendance can look forward to a thrilling softball showdown between PWPD and PWFD, DJ music and live entertainment that will keep the atmosphere lively, and an array of food and other local vendors. Children will enjoy hands-on experiences with police and fire equipment, and the first 200 young attendees will receive special giveaways from their local police officers.
