Port Washington Resident Earns Con Edison's Highest Honor
The "Living Our Values" award is presented to employees who exemplify service, excellence and teamwork.

Port Washington resident has received Con Edison’s “Living Our Values” award, the company’s highest honor.
Adrianne Ortizo serves as a section manager in Con Edison's Distribution department. There, she works to improve the public voltage program. If there is stray contact electric voltage, she immediately takes steps to prevent an electric shock from happening.
“Living Our Values” is presented to employees who exemplify service, teamwork, excellence and concern for the quality of life in their communities.

“Adrianne is a champion of public safety, and has served as our key speaker and organizer concerning urban contact voltage prevention, detection and mitigation,” James Leary, a department manager in the company’s Distribution Engineering unit, said in a press release. “Her work has brought continued engagement across the utility industry, with broad participation by utilities in the U.S. and abroad, as well as with vendors, research institutions, academia and regulators.”
Ortizo is also an active volunteer in the ACE Mentor Program, where she mentors high school students considering certain careers, and Bottomless Closet, which helps economically disadvantaged women in New York City become successful in their careers.
