Port Washington School District Cancels After-School Activities

PORT WASHINGTON, NY — All after-school and evening activities in the Port Washington Union Free School District have been canceled Monday as a wintry mix of rain and snow moves over Long Island.

A spokeswoman for Michael Hynes, the superintendent, made the announcement in a robocall to parents Monday afternoon. The message cited anticipated poor weather conditions as the reason for canceling

Among the activities canceled: drivers' education courses, adult education and child care programs.

"Please exercise caution and stay safe," the recording said.
