Soundview Cinemas In Port Washington To Close: Report
Soundview Cinemas, a six-theater multiplex in Port Washington, is set to close next month, according to a news report.

PORT WASHINGTON, NY — Soundview Cinemas in Port Washington is shutting its doors after eight years in business.
The Island Now reports that the six-theater multiplex — located at 7 Soundview Marketplace — will close in September. In an interview with the media company, owner Jordan Desner said revenue losses due to the COVID-19 pandemic and an underwhelming attendance since reopening this summer contributed to the decision to shut down.
"Financially, it just doesn't make sense for us," Desner said. "The theater, unfortunately, has not really gotten tremendous support since we've been back open. It hasn't really been what we expected."
