FLOWER HILL, NY — Police are investigating after they said the driver of a luxury sedan told an 11-year-old girl to get in his car in Flower Hill.

Investigators said the girl was walking with a friend around 2:45 p.m. Friday near Dogwood Lane and Manhasset Woods Road when a black BMW with tinted windows stopped in the middle of the road. The driver rolled down the window and told the girl "ride, car, get in," police said. His voice contained an accent.

Fearing for her safety, the girl screamed "No!" and ran in the opposite direction.
