Stratford Residents File Appeal For Recent Zoning Approval at Ferry Boulevard

Numerous residents are upset over the approval of the special case application allowing AAA Northeast to open fleet center.

The AAA Northeast fleet center that is scheduled to open at 382 Ferry Blvd. would replace a highly visible property at the corner of Willow Avenue and Ferry boulevard, the Stratford Star reported.

AAA Northeast has purchased the land and is planning to build a 40-vehicle fleet center there, the Stratford Star reports.

Five homeowners spoke in protest of the development at the Zoning Commission’s April 28 public hearing and have submitted an appeal, according to the Star. Some residents have concern over the traffic that would come with the new commercial building while others oppose the development in its entirety.

Zoning Commission chairman Dave Fuller wasn’t present at the hearing but told the Star that the project would project about 150 jobs and shouldn’t affect residents because the area is already a busy, commercial area.
