Port Washington Target Sets Opening Date; Looks To Hire 100 Employees
Hiring events will be held in Port Washington this month.

The small-format Target store is expected to open in Port Washington on Oct. 18.
The store is looking to hire approximately 100 new employees in a range of positions, including:
- Helping guests on the front end
- Working on the sales floor
- Logistics
- Leadership roles and team member roles to assist guests in all areas of the store
The store is taking over the former location of King Kullen, located at 3 Shore Road in the Soundview Marketplace. It will be Target's 25th store on Long Island and the third small-format store in the area.

Hiring events will be held at the Landmark Theater, located at 232 Main St., from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on the following dates:
- Monday, July 31
- Wednesday, Aug. 2
- Monday, Aug. 7
- Monday, Aug. 14
Walk-ins are welcome but it is recommend that interested parties apply in advance at Target.com/careers. Time spots will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Target team members:
- Make sure customers have a good shopping experience
- Keep the stores clean and organized
- Help guests with their shopping

Port Washington’s 48,000- square-foot Target store will provide a quick-trip shopping experience for residents, the company says.
“As Target’s presence on Long Island continues to expand, we are proud to serve guests in the North Shore area and be able to add approximately 100 team members with the opening of our Port Washington store,” Shannon Egan, store team leader at Target, said in a press release. “We look forward to providing guests with core essentials and premium assortments for either a quick visit before a day out on the boat or to stock-up the house for the whole family.”
Small-format Target stores are smaller and have assorted goods that are tailored to meet the needs of those in the area. It will offer:
- Apparel including men’s, women’s, kids’ and baby
- Baby and kid’s products, including toys, sporting goods and home décor
- A grocery section, including fresh produce with healthy food options
- A curated home and stationery assortment
- An expanded assortment of cosmetic, skin and hair care items
- Portable electronics and tech accessories
- Services include Target Mobile and Order Pickup
