TONH Hosts Free Summer Program For Residents With Disabilities

The Town of North Hempstead has launched a free summer program for children and adults with developmental disabilities.

PORT WASHINGTON, NY — The Town of North Hempstead's C.A.R.E. program is now offering an in-person summer session for children and adults with developmental disabilities.

The free summer session began Tuesday and will be held for six weeks, Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

C.A.R.E. — managed and supervised by the Viscardi Center — is a year-round, full-day respite and recreation program for North Hempstead residents ages 8 and older with developmental disabilities, according to officials. The program aims to provide opportunities for participants to socialize and explore their communities through activities and excursions.
