Viral 'Forever Bracelets' 'Zapped' Onto LI'ers At Nassau Jewelry Store
The bracelets, a recent NYC fashion trend, are welded onto the wrist, to mark friendship, family bonds, love. The Diamond Boutique explains.

PORT WASHINGTON, NY — Love may or may not be forever, but at Port Washington jewelry store The Diamond Boutique, customers are hoping a new type of bracelet will be. "Forever bracelets" are a recent trend originating in New York City. The chains are welded around customers' wrists, and are used to mark friendships, love, and family bonds.
Owner Joseph Daniel tells Patch that his store is one of the first to offer the bracelets on Long Island. On Sundays between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., he "zaps" the bracelets onto customers' wrists, a painless, one-minute process he says.
There are over 20 different chain types — gold-plated, gold-filled and sterling silver — and ranging in cost from $50 to $75. The bracelets are a popular interactive holiday gift choice, he says.
