Veterans Day Parade Held In Port Washington, Korean War Vet Honored

A North Hempstead council member honored a Korean War veteran and Purple Heart recipient by presenting him with a proclamation.

PORT WASHINGTON, NY — The Port Washington Veterans Day Parade ceremony was held at the John Philip Sousa Bandshell on Nov. 11, the Town of North Hempstead wrote in a news release on Thursday.

North Hempstead Council Member Mariann Dalimonte attended the event along with a crowd of hundreds of attendees. Everyone demonstrated their support for local veterans who have valiantly served and continue to serve the nation.

After the parade, Dalimonte honored Stanley Nadel, a Korean War veteran and Purple Heart recipient, by presenting him with a proclamation in recognition of his dedicated service.
