Previous investigations have detected metals in the soil and/or groundwater at the Clocktower site, according to New York State officials.

ROSLYN, NY — Roslyn residents can weigh in on a draft work plan to investigate contamination at the Clocktower site.

New York's Department of Environmental Conservation is accepting public comments about the plan through March 4.

According to the department's website, an investigation at 45 Lumber Rd. will "define the nature and extent of contamination in soil, surface water, groundwater, and any other parts of the environment that may be affected." Previous investigations have detected volatile and semi-volatile organic compounds and metals in the soil and/or groundwater.
