Winter Lanterns Drive-Thru Light Show Opens At Nassau Art Museum
Roslyn's NYC Winter Lantern Festival: The holiday show, inspired by outer space, spans 50 acres, has 2K lanterns and a million LED lights.
ROSLYN, NY — The NYC winter lantern festival is back this year, and the Nassau County Museum of Art is one of the show's four locations. The NYC Winter Lantern Festival opened for the holiday season Thursday, and will run until Jan. 8 at the museum, 1 Museum Drive in Roslyn.
This season's show is outer space-themed, and will have one million LED lights, tunnels and 2,000 lanterns. The show's 50 acres are designed to be slowly driven through, organizers say.
The museum partnered with Kaleido Arts & Entertainment Group, which created this year's display.

The museum's director, Charles A. Riley, said “This spectacular pageant of Asian culture, created specifically for the 145-acre garden, is an unforgettable voyage for families to enjoy.”

The Nassau County Museum of Art has been bringing more Asian-themed programming to the museum, driven by support from the Nassau County Executive’s Office of Asian Affairs.
The Winter Lantern Festival will run Fridays to Sundays until Dec. 22, when the show will be open every day until Jan. 1: Fridays 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., and Saturdays until 9 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online.
