1 Dead, 1 Critical After Brooklyn Shooting: Police

EAST FLATBUSH, BROOKLYN — A shooting Monday evening in East Flatbush left a Crown Heights resident dead and another man in critical condition, according to the NYPD.
Around 7 p.m. Monday, Gary Walker, 33, who lived on the 700 block of Crown Street, took a fatal bullet to the head in front of 219 East 56th St. in East Flatbush, police said. He was pronounced dead soon after at Brookdale Hospital.
Another 31-year-old victim was shot in the back at that location, police said, and was transferred to Kings County Hospital in critical condition.
Friends of Walker, who called him “G Bear,” took to social media Tuesday to mourn his death.
Instagram user another_lostar_designs posted: “Still can’t believe it. Been my neighbor for 30 years...prayers going out to the Walker family...until we meet again, Bro.”
A second Instagram user, koyosofrosty, posted of Walker: “Whenever we meet up, it’s always love...You was a good one! The good die too young...Gone but never forgotten.”
