CROWN HEIGHTS, NY — Two teenagers — one an innocent bystander — were wounded in a broad daylight shooting that sent Crown Heights locals running for their lives Wednesday morning, according to the NYPD and a witness.

Shots rang out on the corner of Eastern Parkway and Franklin Avenue about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, leaving a 16- and a 17-year-old with injuries, according to police and nearby Dunkin' store manager Elaine Antrobus.

"It's like a movie," Antrobus said. "Beyond scary."

Two teenaged strangers approached the 17-year-old boy outside a deli on Franklin Avenue and Eastern Parkway and started to fight with him, police said. One of the young suspects punched the 17-year-old in the face and, as the he started running away, he was shot in his left arm, police said Thursday.

Police had previously said the boy was shot in his leg, and that he had also been an innocent bystander. Review of surveillance camera footage revealed the boy had been confronted by the two suspects, the New York Daily News reported.

Police maintained the girl, who was shot twice in the left leg, was an innocent bystander.

Both teens were sent to Kings County Hospital in stable condition, according to the NYPD.

A day later, the suspected shooters were still free. On Thursday, police released photos of the two young suspects — one of which is about 18 years old, police said.

Antrobus heard two "firecrackers" then saw people started running, "scattering for their life," she told Patch.

Antrobus then saw the area "flocked with police" and a man and woman, both conscious and scared, loaded into ambulances.
