4 Firefighters Hospitalized After Crown Heights Blaze: FDNY
Flames ripped through a vacant Crown Heights building Wednesday morning, sending four firefighters to the hospital.

CROWN HEIGHTS, NY — Four firefighters were hospitalized Wednesday morning after putting out a fire in a vacant Crown Heights building, FDNY officials said.
The blaze started about 5 a.m. in a four-story vacant dwelling near Brooklyn Avenue and Sterling Place and took over three hours to control, according to the FDNY.
Four firefighters were transported to an area hospital in unknown condition, authorities said.

The cause of the fire remained unknown Wednesday morning, officials said.
Some 130 fire personnel responded to the flames, which were under control by about 8:40 a.m., authorities said.

Videos posted to Citizen show smoke billowing from an apartment building and flames bursting through the top and every floor of the structure.
Videos from later Wednesday morning show a building demolished, with a charred facade and empty windowsills.
