5 Things: Free Funk/Folk/Jazz, Weekend Subway Changes, P.S. 9 Movie Night, More

Prospect Heights-area information and events you won't want to miss.

1. You need to kick back and enjoy your Friday night. Head to to hear Prospect Heights Patch's own perform her funky, jazzy and folky melodies. 7 p.m. 335 Flatbush Ave. bet. Prospect and Park Place. No cover.

2. You need to support P.S. 9 ... and get the kids out of the house ... and get to the movies. Tonight you can do all three at the where "The Iron Giant" will be shown. 6 p.m. , 80 Underhill Ave. at St. Mark's, $5, which includes popcorn.

3. You need to get the kids out of the house. If your little one likes trains, head to Transit Tots a weekly drop-in program at the New York Transit Museum, Corner of Boerum Pl & Schermerhorn St, 11 a.m., Ages 2-5, Free. Or,  for more options.

4. You need to know if your train is running ...  There are no No. 2 trains between Brooklyn and Manhattan midnight to 5 a.m. today and all weekend. Take the 4, 5 or N trains with out-of-station free transfers at select Manhattan stops. Plus, all weekend, there are no Manhattan-bound 4 and 5 trains at Bergen, Grand Army Plaza and Eastern Parkway. You'll have to take the express to Atlantic or Franklin and then take the local back. Click here for details.

5. ... And if you have to move your car. Unfortunately, yes. The next alternate side suspension isn't until Thanksgiving, on Nov 25, according to the NYCDOT.
