5 Things: Where to Watch—Or Not Watch—Super Bowl 2012, Black History Talk, More

Prospect Heights-area subway, alternate side and event information you won't want to miss.

 

1. You need to not watch the Super Bowl. In that case, head to the  for  at 4 p.m. or to the  to watch science fiction sports films at the , also at 4. Both free. will be showing the game.

2. You need to learn more about black history. Head to the  for , where Farah Tanis, director of Black Women's Blueprint and historian Robyn Spencer will discuss efforts to bring black women into full and equal social, economic and political participation in American society.

3. You need to get the kids out of the house. Kids events are back at Prosepect Park, so head to Prospect Park Lefferts House for a Second Floor Tour (1-3:30 on the half hour) or Handiwork: Tasks and Crafts from the Past (2:30-3:30 p.m.). Lefferts Historic House at Prospect Park (Use entrance at Flatbush and Ocean Avenues), Free.

4. You need to know if your train is running ...  It is! There are no planned subway changes affecting Prospect Heights stations all weekend, according to the MTA.

5. ... And if you have to move your car. Not today of course, but alternate side won't be suspended again until Monday, Feb. 13 for Lincoln's Birthday, according to the NYCDOT.
