5 Things: Sylvia Plath Book Launch and a Twist on Storytelling

1. Share your story. If you love storytelling, head to Show & Tell it Brooklyn, A twist on storytelling. To participate, bring your old & new photos, love letters, cards, documents and anything else that has a story behind it to discuss.
2. Launch a book. If you're a fan of Plath, then head to the South Slope for Book Launch: Pain, Parties, Work: Sylvia Plath in New York, Summer 1953. Author Elizabeth Winder will discuss her portrait of Sylvia Plath, through the lens of the year she spent in New York. Drinks and light refreshments will be served. 1111 8th Ave.
3. See a songwriter. It's singer-songwriter night at The Way Station with a line-up of Paul Ryan + Chris Van Voorst Combo + Bucky Hayes. Show starts at 8.
4. Focus on change. The Brooklyn International Socialist Organization is holding a panel discussion on police violence tonight. 5. Move your car. Alternate side parking rules are in effect. The DOT will suspend parking rules on Wed., May 15 and Thursday, May 16 for the Jewish holiday Shavuot.
