CROWN HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — A restaurant near the Crown Heights border dishes out some of the best cheap eats in New York City, according to Eater.

Ethel & Annie Mae's Soulfood Kitchen landed a spot on the outlet's list of 40 Inexpensive Dining Destinations in NYC, which was put together by dining critic Robert Sietsema.

The latest list was published earlier this month, refreshing the food outlet's previous ranking on the same subject.

Among the new additions was Ethel & Annie's, which opened on Albany Avenue last year. The restaurant was praised by Sietsema for both its soul food classics and innovative menu options, including desserts.

Here's what Eater had to say about the eatery:

"Catering veteran and master baker Danielle Moore started this corner soul food place in Flatbush last year, showcasing the cuisine’s standards, including chicken wings, fried porgies, and New Orleans po’ boys. But at whim she ventures outside the canon, recently producing a wonderful lamb burger with a thick sear on each side and a tzatziki dressing. Also don’t miss the pineapple upside down cake and banana pudding."

Ethel & Annie Mae's Soulfood Kitchen is found at 497 Albany Ave. Learn more about the restaurant by visiting its website here.
