'Be A Culinary Explorer': Taste 20 Eateries At Franklin Ave Festival
Brooklyn businesses, restaurants and artists will shut down Franklin Avenue Saturday for a Crown Heights tasting festival.

CROWN HEIGHTS, NY — Some 20 Franklin Avenue eateries, galleries and bars will open their doors this Saturday for Franklin Avenue festival.
The combined food, drink and art crawl will start at 2 p.m. and will run from Dean Street to Lincoln Place on Franklin Avenue. The day includes a guided art walk and good eats and drink deals from businesses. Tickets, which can be purchased online here, are $35 for four "tastes" at participating restaurants and $100 for 12 "tastes."
The day will also include a block party for local families and a healthy food market for kids.

"Enjoy restaurants, bars, food establishments and more small businesses in this culturally-rich, trendy, diverse artistic corner of Brooklyn, plus our pop-up Hip2B Healthy Market run by kids. Create your personal food and drink tour," Tastes of Brooklyn said on its website. "Be a culinary explorer again. Let's boost businesses and healthy kids together."
Proceeds from Saturday's event will benefit the local businesses and Seeds in the Middle, a local charity that fights food insecurity by empowering and educating students and schools on healthy and sustainable food consumption. Tastes of Brooklyn's work also supports 18 central Brooklyn schools with overcoming food insecurity and boosting student achievement.

Participating restaurants include seafood staple The Crabby Shack, Neapolitan pizza from Barboncino, guacamole and hummus from Crown Heights Cafe, discounts at Franklin Wine & Spirits, drinks and light bites at Julia Seabrook Gallery and juices from Veggies Natural Juice Bar.
A full list of participating restaurants can be found here. Saturday's art walk will be led by Brooklyn Art Walks, and the event was produced in collaboration with Brooklyn Celebrity, a lifestyle and travel brand that produces pop-ups at the Brooklyn Museum.
