Brooklyn Bell's The Local Is Closing
A message posted outside the ice cream shop says founders Ron and Kati Cunningham are "moving on to the next chapter in our life."

CROWN HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — Brooklyn Bell's "The Local" — where husband-wife duo Ron and Kati Cunningham sold ice cream, coffee and treats — is closing at the end of this week, a sign posted on the store's front door says.
Patch saw the notice on a recent walk by the store. It says that the Cunninghams are "moving on to the next chapter in our life."
"To our neighbors and regulars, thank you for supporting us over the past four years," the sign reads. "It has been a pleasure and honor to serve you and be part of this beautiful community. Thanks for sharing our ice cream dreams with us!"

It's unclear what this means for Brooklyn Bell's broader ice cream efforts. The company sells ice cream at several locations throughout Brooklyn. The Local was a brick-and-mortar spot for people to come hang out and buy ice cream in person.

"We’re totally stoked about the location," Ron Cunningham told DNAinfo in 2014 when the store opened. "It’s kind of like a no-brainer."
Brooklyn Bell's social media hasn't posted anything since May 10. We've reached out to them for more details and will update this story when we hear back.
