"From its humble beginning in Prospect Park to one of the largest road races in the country — it’s a story as timeless as Brooklyn itself," NYCRuns said on its website.
Beyond pride and fitness, the race is incentivized with a sweet reward from a $10,000 pool, according to NYCRuns' website. The massive pot will be split between the top three overall male, female and non-binary finishers in multiple age groups.
