PROSPECT PARK, BROOKLYN — A brush fire broke out on the roof of Prospect Park's ice skating center on Tuesday, according to fire officials.

Firefighters rushed to the LeFrak Center at Lakeside building about 1 p.m. when a brush fire broke out above the one-story building, which houses a restaurant and rental services for the rinks and is covered with a "green roof," the FDNY said.

The fire was put out by 1:30 p.m. and nobody was hurt in the blaze, according to fire officials.

The center — found on East Drive near the Ocean Avenue side of the park — was not permanently damaged by the fire, parks officials told Patch.

"Fortunately the damage is very minimal and we don’t see any permanent damage," a Parks Department spokesperson said.

The LeFrak Center's concession buildings and the canopy over the outdoor rink both include "Intensive Green Roofs" that were put in place in a $74 million restoration of the southeast corner of the park, according to an overview of the project.

The green roof includes foot paths where park-goers can visit the plantings, according to the overview.

The blaze erupted about a week after a suspected arsonist lit several fires in Central Park.
