Cataldo's Closes After 14 Years On Vanderbilt Avenue
A Prospect Heights staple closed last week after 14 years serving Italian classics and classic Brooklyn charm.

PROSPECT HEIGHTS, NY — Prospect Heights diners were left mourning last week after family-run Italian spot Cataldo's served it's last pizza and pasta.
"It has been a pleasure to become part of the community here in Prospect Heights. We would like to thank our loyal customers from near and far for your support throughout the years," owners said in an Instagram post announcing the closure.
Owners said in an Instagram post they were "finally retiring" on June 3 after running the eatery for 14 years on Vanderbilt Avenue.

"Our dedicated family and staff have been a key component to our success. It’s a bittersweet moment for us as we begin our path ahead," owners wrote.
Hundreds took to social media to share what the beloved spot between Dean and Bergen streets meant to the community.

"What a great run. TCruly an end of an era. You were a neighborhood staple. You will be sorely missed. Thanks for the memories Cataldo’s," one patron wrote on Instagram.
Another patron noted Cataldo's was full of Brooklyn pride.
"I loved bringing my out-of-town family here, [because] you showed [them] what real BK love/community is all about (and the great food!). I always felt so proud in front of them."
