Smokey Air Moves Community Board 8 Meeting Online
Thursday's Community Board 8 meeting will be held online as New York City air remains hazy and hazardous.

PROSPECT HEIGHTS, NY — Thursday's Community Board 8 meeting will be held online as New York City's sky remains hazy and hazardous.
The general meeting and public hearing, originally scheduled for Palace Hall on Nostrand, will now take place online at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
"In light of the recent worsening air quality due to wildfires in Canada... tomorrow's CB8 General Meeting and Public Hearing has been changed to a virtual meeting," board representatives said Wednesday.

Wildfire smoke from Canada covered the city throughout the week, prompting a state air quality health advisory in all five boroughs, officials said. Officials canceled all after school and outdoor activities for public school students, and advised all New Yorkers to limit outdoor activity.
Smoke was likely to stick around for several days, and repeat hazards could be expected over the next few months, said Zach Iscol, the city's emergency management commissioner.
