CROWN HEIGHTS, NY — A young man accused of killing a 20-year-old at a Crown Heights deli and then confessing on social media was sentenced Monday, prosecutors announced.

Gymanni Carrington, 22, now faces 15 years to life behind bars — five years after prosecutors say he shot and killed then-20-year-old Donavan Frazier at Franklin's Finest Deli on Franklin Avenue.

Prosecutors say Carrington — thought to be associated with an East Flatbush gang —shot Frazier six times on Sept. 16, 2017 about 4:25 a.m. outside the deli.

He then discussed the murder in an email to his mother, social media posts and calls recorded by the New York City Department of Corrections, according to District Attorney Eric Gonzalez.

If this wasn't enough evidence, prosecutors say Carrington was also caught on surveillance camera.

Carrington was one of 18 named in a 2018 indictment targeting the Martense Beverly Bosses gang, which is affiliated with the Bloods gang, prosecutors said.

"Today’s sentencing is the final disposition of a takedown of a gang that operated in Brooklyn with reckless disregard for life while hunting and shooting rivals," Gonzalez said in a statement.

Authorities in 2018 accused the gang members of keeping a "scoreboard" of their killings. The indictment also included a dramatic shooting at Kings Plaza Mall in 2017 that left shoppers running for their lives.
