'Crown Heights' Movie Has A Release Date

Here's when you can see the prison drama, which won an award at the Sundance Film Festival.

CROWN HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — "Crown Heights," an award-winning movie about a man wrongfully sent to prison, will be released on August 25 in the United States, according to multiple reports.

The movie stars Lakeith Stanfield and former Pro Bowl NFL cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha. It tells the true story of Colin Warner (Stanfield), a Crown Heights resident who is wrongfully convicted of a murder in Flatbush, and his best friend Carl ‘KC’ King (Asomugha), who devotes his life to setting him free.

The film, written and directed by Matt Ruskin, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January to positive reviews. It won the festival's Audience Award for U.S. Dramatic features.
