Crown Heights Verizon Store Robbery Attempt Leaves Two Injured, Suspect Escapes, Police Say
Police released surveillance photos of the man they are looking for in connection with the robbery.
CROWN HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — Two men are injured and a suspect is on the loose after an attempted robbery at a Verizon store in Crown Heights, the NYPD said Friday.
Shortly after 11 p.m. on Monday, a man walked into the store at 718 Franklin Avenue, between Park and Sterling places, showed a gun and demanded property, police said.
The would-be robber hit a 31-year-old man inside the store and a 54-year-old man outside the store in the head with his gun and fled the scene, police said.

He left without taking any money or property, police said. The injured men were taken to Coney Island Hospital in stable condition and treated for abrasions to their head, police said.
The suspect is described by police as a 20-year-old black male standing 6 feet tall, weighing 180 pounds and wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, a black ski mask and sneakers.
