Double Shooting Wounds 2 in Crown Heights: Report

One of the victims survived being shot 11 times, according to the New York Daily News.

CROWN HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — Police are investigating possible links between two shooting victims taken to Kings County Hospital in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens early Friday morning.

According to the NYPD, officers responded to a 911 call in Crown Heights around at 2:17 a.m. Friday. When officers arrived, the department said, they discovered a 33-year-old man outside 1004 Union St. who had been shot in the foot.

The victim was taken to Kings County Hospital in stable condition, police said. He was treated and released.

However, while at the hospital, police discovered a second 24-year-old shooting victim who had arrived at the hospital by private means.

The victim had been shot multiple times below the abdomen and was in critical condition, according to the NYPD.

Citing a source, the Daily News reported that the second victim was shot 11 times, and that both men were shot at the same location.

However, a police spokesperson wouldn't confirm that report Friday — saying only that the shootings were under investigation.

No arrests had been made as of Friday afternoon, police said.

The crime(s) described above took place in the NYPD's 71st Precinct. According to official police statistics, through April 17, major crimes in the 71st were collectively down about 5.5 percent compared to the same time period last year.

A total of two shootings and four shooting victims had been reported through April 17, compared to four shootings and four victims during the same period last year.
